Final crit

Today I pitched my final ideas and plans for the last crit of the project. Despite only having the vector typefaces to show feedback was generally positive. The main concern that was raised is perhaps I'm focusing too much on elaborate implementation in the final week and not enough on the actual type itself and the fact that thats the only element I'm marked on. I hadn't really thought about it like this up until now but I think tomorrows vinyl cutter session will be a breakthrough in the deconstruction of the typographic form, and essential part of my essay to get across in physical format. There is also maybe still the potential to stitch some bits but its unfortunate there isn't an automated CAD sewing machine at uni.

The colour gold was suggested to me as an accent, a feature that I can imagine working well with the current pallet but I'm very conscious of not creating too much visual distraction from the type and using colour sparingly.
